MEET JESSICA FREEDMAN

JESSICA FREEDMAN is an accomplished SAG-AFTRA studio singer, performer and songwriter originally from Santa Rosa, CA. She has been singing professionally in Los Angeles for the past 18 years, on major films, TV shows, albums, live concerts, soundtracks and in a variety of LA’s top party/corporate bands, professional choirs and vocal ensembles. Her most recent studio projects include vocals for Despicable Me 4, album background vocals for artists Mitski, Hozier and Michael Kiwanuka, a new song featured at Disneyland, background vocals for Billie Eilish at the 2019 Grammy Awards, and work with other notable artists such as Paul McCartney, Justin Timberlake, Leslie Odom Jr, Sara Bareilles, Sergio Mendes, Andrea Bocelli, Pentatonix, The Pet Shop Boys and Post Modern Jukebox.

Jessica was a featured soloist in the Oscar award-winning film La La Land, as well as a score vocalist for films including Hocus Pocus 2, Mulan, Frozen II, Peter Rabbit, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Sing and Pitch Perfect 3. TV credits include The Voice, American Horror Story, Castle, The Orville, Portlandia, Pen15 and The Sing Off. She has also performed in several concerts at the Hollywood Bowl, other renown venues including The Hotel Cafe, The Troubadour and Carnegie Hall, and iconic events such as the Grammy’s, Video Game Awards, Sundance Film Festival, SXSW and Ted Talks.

After graduating from UCLA with a degree in Jazz Studies/Vocal Performance, Jessica spent the formative years of her career recording & touring with award-winning vocal group ARORA (formerly known as Sonos). After signing with Verve Records in 2009, they released 4 albums and toured for several years all over the US and UK, becoming well-known for their innovative vocal arrangements, original compositions and unique use of effects pedals and loopers in their performances. In addition, the vocal quintet worked at countless festivals all over the country, giving masterclasses on vocal technique, performance, songwriting, vocal arranging & musicianship. With all her experience as a working professional singer for the past 20 years, Jessica has become passionate about coaching and mentoring others to cultivate their own unique voice, musicianship and artistry, and reach their highest potential as a singer and performer.

Jess is honored to be a part of Valerie’s incredible studio & legacy. She looks forward to bringing her diverse experience, musicianship, enthusiasm and passion to the studio, and support her students on their vocal and artistic journeys!
